I've been happy with my work for the first time in ages. I'm no longer pretending to be something I'm not. I've always been an illustrator, but I think I lost sight of it while going through school. I had many years at the academy, where I became enamored with painting; the truth is that those years solidified the technique behind my art, but my art cannot rely entirely on technique. The most important thing isn't technique, but what you want to say with your art and what makes you happy.
I feel like I finally realized that storyboarding, sketching scenes, designing characters, doing research and making stories come to life is what makes me truly happy. I'm so thankful to those of you who helped me realize this. Illustrations have the power to make the unreal become real. I couldn't be more excited for when everyone sees all the love that went into "Little Karl". I'll be getting proofs for the book soon!
