I'm so excited because there's only 1 week left until my guest appearance on J Schwanke's Life in Bloom! I've been a big fan of J's show for many years and to be a guest on a special "Painting and Flowers" episode is really special. J and his team flew me out to Grand Rapids, MI back in August of 2024 and we filmed and talked about my time in Giverny followed by a painting session where I instructed J in how to use watercolors to paint a gorgeous bouquet. It was one of the most exciting days of my life and I loved every minute of it. The first episode of season 7 is already here and next week, you can watch my episode (#702) through this same link: https://www.pbs.org/show/j-schwankes-life-in-bloom/ - Just scroll down and click the season drop down menu to choose season 7! BIG thanks to whoever was the kind soul who included me on the list of "Artists to Collect" in 2025! To share more of my available work, I've decided to open up a Spring Studio Sale!
These original watercolors and oils are already selling quickly so take a look and see if something catches your eye. I truly appreciate all of the support! As we transition into spring, I've been busy painting and teaching. And I've been amazed with the response that I've received from everyone who's reached out about various opportunities and to purchase my prints and original paintings. I've felt a real sense of joy because it's an incredible honor when someone purchases one of my pieces; I don't think that I could ever really express the gratitude that I feel. Sharing my art and teaching while also traveling is really a dream come true. When I started out as an artist, I had the standard naivety about "making it". I was really unaware (luckily) of the ups and downs that I would face on my journey all while trying to get better as an artist and as a teacher. I'm always trying to find a balance with this ever-evolving process of learning by testing out new things. And as an artist, things like self doubt, fear or worry creep up and can have an impact; I often have these feelings, but I try to let them motivate me instead of controlling me. There's a sign at the gym that I go to that says: "Don't wish for it, work for it." We really can't operate in isolation - To everyone in my community and elsewhere who has connected: Thank you all so much <3 P.S. I'll be posting more available work soon! Thank you to everyone who has purchased works! And to anyone who wants to connect: check out my IG @ericenpleinair
