Eric En Plein Air™ is a currently developing TV show for American Public Television (APT) which combines painting instruction, travel, art history and culture. “En Plein Air” is the French term for painting outdoors "in open air”. This show follows me as I travel throughout the US and abroad, painting and learning about specific destinations, with a particular focus on gardens. This show highlights lesser known environments with an emphasis on appreciating, supporting and preserving nature and wildlife. As an instructional program: this show demonstrates the principles, techniques and materials of working entirely en plein air.
Painting outdoors is a very therapeutic way to engage with nature and anyone can do it with a little encouragement and guidance. Viewers may enjoy this as an instructional program and/or as a relaxing travelogue. *I will be appearing on Season 7, episode #702 of J Schwanke's Life in Bloom in April of 2025 on American Public Television and Create TV.
