I'm overjoyed to announce that I am one of two artists who have been chosen for the Versailles Foundation's Munn Fellowship Artist Residency Award which will allow me to live and work for 3 months in 2023 at Claude Monet's house and gardens in Giverny, France. I am most honored to have received this prestigious award.

As an artist and someone who takes pride in my materials, I always try to seek out the highest quality materials. Sometimes that requires custom pieces to be made by hand. I was looking for a palette to fit into my half Jullian easel. It had to be a specific size to fit inside the interior metal drawer. I did some research and found a store that makes handmade art tools called Studium Art Club on Etsy and sent a message to the owner, Mr. Andrew Ellingson. I asked if he could do a custom size palette of 16" X 5.5" to fit in my Jullian easel. Andrew wrote back to me very promptly and told me he could absolutely do that for me. I also asked if he could include a curve near the thumbhole to make a handhold; once again, Andrew was very accommodating. This is why I support small businesses. I received my palette today after a very quick shipping period. Having spent a lot of time in woodshops myself, I can feel the quality of this palette. I love bespoke pieces and am really glad that there are artists and craftsman like Mr. Ellingson who take pride in their work. I am very excited to use my new palette the next time I go out painting en plein air. Check out Studium Art Club on Etsy Wall easels, palettes, mahlsticks and more.
