"Girl Holding a Flower" - Day 1
I just started a new figure painting of a young girl holding a flower. It's still very rough because I just started it. It's also larger (24" X 16") than some of previous paintings which represents a new challenge. Once this painting is done, I'll include it in the instructors' show at the Ridgewood Art Institute for October. I'm going to be pretty busy!
"Maea with Her Ears Folded Down" - Day 5, Finished, Not Varnished + Information on Fall Classes.
Just put the finishing touches on my portrait and signed it! I'll be varnishing it after it dries fully and then photographing it. I said previously that I photograph my work before I varnish it, but I've switched methods so now I photograph it after I varnish it.
On another note, my classes at the Ridgewood Art Institute start in 8 days and I'm very excited. I'm also proud to announce that I'm going to be a TA for a class in NYC at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. The ICAA class is titled, "Observational Drawing Skills For Architects & Designers and will be taught by John Woodrow Kelley.
*See the picture below for more details about the ICAA class.
I just have to sign this one and it'll be all done! I'm very proud of it and I like the background a lot.
This painting is progressing really nicely! I think that I'll be able to finish it with one more day of work.
